At BrilliantRead Media, we always strive to bring meaningful and powerful stories from India and around the world to empower and motivate our growing community. As part of this endeavour, we invited Dr. Diya Mangharamani for an exclusive interview with us. Dr. Diya is a Physiotherapist, Diabetes Nutrition Consultant, Yoga Trainer, Wellness Educator and Founder at Nutriphysio Reviva. Let’s learn more about her background, journey and her advice for our community!
Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Dr. Diya:
Could you please talk us through your background and your journey?
My professional journey has always been guided by one core belief — healing is not just about treatment; it’s about transformation.
I began my career as a physiotherapist, working closely with patients on rehabilitation and recovery. Over time, I realised that many of them were struggling with deeper, underlying issues — lifestyle habits, metabolic disorders, and hormonal imbalances such as diabetes and thyroid dysfunction — that often slowed their healing.
That realisation became the turning point in my career. I decided to specialise in clinical and diabetes nutrition, combining it with my physiotherapy background to create a truly holistic and sustainable approach to healing.
One patient once told me, “I can do anything for my loved ones — even die for them.” That day, I asked him, “Why not live longer for them instead?” That conversation became the seed of my life’s mission.
This vision led to the creation of Nutriphysio Reviva — a holistic health brand that integrates physiotherapy, therapeutic nutrition, yoga, and lifestyle medicine under one roof.
At Nutriphysio Reviva, our mission is simple yet powerful: “Your helping hand to live longer.” We focus on preventive, restorative, and regenerative health care — empowering people to not just recover, but to live stronger, healthier, and happier lives.
How did you discover your passion?
My passion didn’t begin with a predefined goal — it unfolded through the experiences I shared with my patients.
Early in my physiotherapy practice, I often saw patients who recovered physically yet continued to struggle metabolically — with uncontrolled sugar levels, fatigue, or chronic inflammation. That’s when I realised that movement alone isn’t enough; nutrition and mindset complete the circle of healing.
Driven by curiosity and compassion, I began studying diabetes and metabolic disorders in depth. Gradually, I started designing personalised programs that integrated scientific nutrition, evidence-based physiotherapy, and yoga therapy. The transformation I witnessed was remarkable — patients were not only moving pain-free but also reversing diabetes and reclaiming their vitality.
That’s when I discovered my deeper calling: to help people not just manage disease, but rebuild health from within.
Despite the challenges, what keeps you going when things get tough?
What truly keeps me going is the impact I see in people’s lives. Healthcare is emotionally demanding, and entrepreneurship brings its own challenges. But every time a diabetic patient tells me, “Doctor, my insulin dosage has reduced,” or someone says, “I can finally walk pain-free again,” it reminds me exactly why I started this journey.
I deeply believe in the philosophy of gratitude and shared joy — being thankful every day for the simple things we often overlook: the food we eat, the light we see, the wind we feel, and the water we drink — gratitude for the five elements that sustain us. And beyond that, finding true happiness in the well-being of others.
Each patient’s progress, every life that revives through our programs, reinforces my mission — to keep creating awareness, spreading hope, and empowering people to live longer, stronger, and more fulfilled lives.
What are the three most important lessons you have learned in your life?
1) Healing begins with self-awareness: You can’t change what you don’t acknowledge — awareness is the foundation of transformation.
2) Empathy is the strongest medicine: Science heals the body, but empathy heals the soul.
4) Support from your loved ones: it can help you build a stronger backbone, and when nobody is there, they will have your back no matter what, whether you fail or you are at the top position in your life. So that is the utmost important. It’s ok if you get it before success or after the success.
In your opinion, what are the keys to success?
For me, success means creating impact — when someone says, “Doctor, you changed my life,” that’s true success.
The key pillars I believe in are:
> Self-belief and discipline — growth comes from consistency.
> Continuous learning — healthcare is dynamic; staying updated is essential.
> Integrity — always do what’s right for the patient, even if it’s not the easiest path.
> Empathy and connection — people may forget what you say, but they’ll always remember how you made them feel.
> Purpose over pressure — when you focus on service, success follows naturally.
What advice would you give students and young professionals who want to have a successful career?
To young physiotherapists, dietitians, and healthcare professionals, I’d say this: Be curious. Be compassionate. And never stop learning.
Your goal should go beyond treatment — it should be to educate and empower. Remember that health is multi-dimensional; it’s not just about the body, but also the mind and lifestyle. Don’t confine yourself to one discipline. Learn how nutrition influences physiology, how stress impacts recovery, and how emotional well-being shapes biology.
And most importantly — stay authentic. Patients connect more deeply with your empathy than your degrees. Build trust. Deliver results. Let your integrity and your work speak for themselves.
Last but not least, what about your journey makes it satisfying/exciting?
The most fulfilling part of my journey is witnessing lives transform — seeing someone regain confidence, reverse diabetes, or simply smile pain-free again.
Through Nutriphysio Reviva, I’ve had the privilege of guiding thousands of individuals toward healthier, happier lives. Each transformation reaffirms my belief that the human body possesses an incredible ability to heal when nurtured with the right care, consistency, and guidance.
What excites me most about this journey is that it brings together science, empathy, and purpose. Every day, I get to make a tangible difference in someone’s life — and that, to me, is the greatest reward any doctor could ask for.
